It possesses a high standard of living and world's highest life expectancies. However insurance policies practiced in France is somehow different from other countries over the world.
Ranked as one among the top in the European Union, the French insurance sector has gained fifth largest position in the world, with net sales of €1984 billion. This insurance service sector bestows around 200,000 jobs to people. The Insurance Commissioner “Commission de controle des Assurances†acts as the regulatory body in the France Insurance.
The France insurance market is too diversified to offer bountiful companies, policies and plans to opt as per requirement. But one has to be selective and accurate while reviewing policies. A broker or an insurance agent thus comes in lime-light. Though a bit expensive, but these insurance agents offer the best insurance policy that suits you and accomplish your needs. Once you hire an agent, then remove all your hassles and confusions on his shoulders. Throughout the agreement, the agent would serve his duty and help even to retrieve the claims.
The France insurance companies are grouped as Life insurance companies and non-life insurance companies. AXA, CNP, AGF are the three main French insurance companies. AXA is even ranked as Europe’s second largest insurance company. Apart from Life insurance and Property insurance which is mandatory in France, the other types of insurances available are Health insurance, Car insurance, Household insurance, School insurance, Credit card insurance, Civil Liability insurance and much more.
Health insurance: It is further divided as general health insurance and special health insurance. “Régime général d`assurance maladie†is the term used for general health insurance. Almost 75-80% French people are covered with general health insurance. Right to healthcare is a highly prized value of the French social model.
Civil liability: In French it is known as “assurance responsabilité civile or chef de familleâ€. Liability is defined as the ability to sue for damages for personal injury. According to French insurance protocol, civil liability insurance is mandatory for everyone to cover any accidental damages you cause to another person or another person's property. Even the school children are insured against damage to school property and injury to other children. This is known as “assurance scolaireâ€. Apart from assurance scolaire, people even opt for other policies to cover tutorial expenses and other home services in case of child sickness.
